From the Hillcrest PTA: EASY WAYS TO RAISE MONIES FOR HILLCREST

We are halfway to our goal of $500. Please keep clipping and saving your Box Tops for Education coupons. You may send them into the office with your children in a Ziploc baggie. The box tops help to offset the cost of such events as the Cultural Café, enrichment programs, mini-grants to name few.

Another way to raise monies to purchase such items as computers, audio visual equipment, books, classroom supplies and more is to designate Hillcrest as your reward recipient when you open a Target charge card. Target will donate 1% of your purchase dollars directly back to HMS. Grandparents, friends and neighbors are all welcome to participate in the program. The more people we involve, the harder the program works for us.

Shop Big Y Supermarkets and use your Big Y Express Savings Club card to purchase items designated with the Education Express logo. Big Y will credit HMS with valuable points enabling the school to purchase an array of various equipment from their scholastic catalog.

WE NEED YOUR HELP: Please understand that for a variety of reasons it has become increasingly more difficult during the busy school day for us to relay messages to your child in a timely fashion. We do the best we can but do understand that there can be delays. The main office, guidance office and nurse's office are very active and busy places.

Making arrangements with your child in advance for an early dismissal and having your child bring in a note in the morning diminishes the confusion and allows your child's teacher to plan for their absence.

Again, we understand there will be emergencies and we will make every attempt to relay the message to your child.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in following this procedure.

We are asking your support to please not contact your child during school hours through their cell phones. Text messaging or calling them disturbs the instruction for your child and the class. You can always call the office at 452-4466 and we will get your child a message. Thank you.
Catch the Hillcrest Weatherbug...It's the only safe bug on the Net! The Weather Bug Achieve Program has links to many exciting tools and adventures that are multidisciplinary in nature. There are math applications, social studies, and language arts as well as science. Click on this link and follow the steps for registration. When you get to the question that asks for the school key code, enter: 4231-54349332 When you go to data from the school, we are currently not yet back online (the equipment has been replaced and we should be back up and running soon) so just choose a nearby school - you will be given several choices. Try it, you'll like it!
For information about the use and availability of the Hillcrest pool, gyms, and outdoor playing fields contact the Trumbull Recreation Department at (203) 452-5060.
